Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 28 June 2026
This page explains how to delete your data from Vesma, an AI sales assistant operated as a sole proprietorship based in India. We honour deletion requests in line with our Privacy Policyand applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
If you are a lead / end-customer
If you messaged a business that uses Vesma and want your data (your phone number, profile name, and conversation history) deleted:
- Reply STOP or DELETE in the WhatsApp chat, or ask the business to remove your details — the business controls your data and can delete it from the Vesma dashboard, or
- Email [email protected] from, or quoting, the phone number used, with the subject “Data deletion request”. We will verify and route the request to the relevant business and assist with deletion.
If you are a Vesma Customer (account holder)
- Delete specific records — remove individual leads, conversations, or knowledge-base documents directly from your dashboard.
- Delete your whole account — email [email protected] from your account email with the subject “Delete my account”. We will delete your workspace and associated personal data.
What happens after a request
- We verify the request to protect against unauthorised deletion.
- We delete the relevant personal data from our active systems, typically within 30 days.
- Residual copies in encrypted backups are removed on the normal backup-rotation cycle.
- We may retain limited data where required by law (e.g. tax/accounting records), in de-identified form where possible.
Disconnecting WhatsApp
Customers can disconnect a WhatsApp number from the dashboard (Settings → Channels), which stops further message processing for that number. This does not by itself delete past conversation data — use the steps above to request deletion.
